The QDMS Drawing Management system was first released to the market in 1995. With many of the early QDMS clients such as Simon Engineering and Kvaerner Oil and Gas being involved in resource engineering, the demand for a specialist Vendor data module soon became apparent.

The first release of the QVDMS Vendor data management system was made in 1996. It has since been updated a number of times and is currently a comprehensive system for managing vendor data requirements and submissions. QVDMS operates as an add module to the QDMS Drawing management system.
