Drawing Transmittal

The Drawing Transmittal generation process in QDMS, is one of the systems most powerful Project Management features. A Drawing Transmittal is simply the means by which QDMS controls the issues of drawings or documents to.

  • A Single recipient
  • Multiple recipients.
  • A Circulation list
  • The distribution of a Package

Drawings or Documents can be selected for issue:

  • One Drawing at a time
  • Using a Filter.
  • Via a design or construction package definition.
  • Based on a previous Drawing Transmittal.
  • Based on drawings or documents currently being sent to another recipient.

Each Drawing Transmittal is automatically numbered and saved in an auditable transmittal register that records it's history.

A Drawing Transmittal can be sent electronically by email with the AutoCAD or Microstation Drawing attachments being automatically compressed and included as part of the eTransmittal.

Should any of the drawings or documents being transmitted ever get revised, pending transmittals for recipients who have received these documents previously, will be created automatically. This ensures, that keeping recipients up to date, with the latest revision of drawings or documents, becomes an easy routine.
