123 Albert Street, Brisbane (Laing O’Rourke)

Constructed on the site of an existing car park, this 23-level premium grade office building features 36,500m2 of new space, three basement levels and five podium floors. Laing O'Rourke undertook the project and committed to integrating the fit-out of 25,000m2 of office space as part of the contract for the client's major pre-committed tenant, Rio Tinto. The development has a 6-Star Greenstar rating and a 5-Star Australian Building Greenhouse Rating (ABGBR) for the building.

Living Carlton (St Hilliers)

The Living Carlton joint venture formally appointed St Hilliers as the preferred builder to construct the second stage of the redevelopment of public housing sites in Melbourne's inner-city suburb of Carlton. The project spans 7.5 hectares across three Carlton sites and will involve construction of over 240 new social housing apartments and 500 market dwellings. The project will be delivered in seven stages over the next eight years with the majority of the social housing component being constructed in the early stages.

Australia Pacific LNG (Origin Energy)

Australia Pacific LNG is a joint venture between Origin Energy and ConocoPhillips to deliver a coal seam gas (CSG) to liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in Queensland. The project will span from gas fields in the Surat and Bowen Basins in Queensland along a 450km pipeline to a site at Laird Point on Curtis Island off Gladstone. Development of the LNG facility – including gas processing, liquefaction and marine infrastructure - will have a capacity of up to 18 million tonnes per annum of LNG.

Narrabri Coal Seam Gas Utilisation Project (Eastern Star Gas)

The Narrabri Coal Seam Gas Utilisation Project is the largest CSG project ever proposed in New South Wales, and will involve the construction and operation of a 32km gas pipeline to supply coal seam gas from the Bibblewindi and Bohena CSG Pilots into the existing Wilga Park Powerstation, and a 550-well gasfield. The project covers the collection and delivery of CSG to the Wilga Park facility which will be expanded from its existing 12MW capacity to a maximum 40MW.

Newcastle Mater Hospital –(Abigroup Contractors Pty Ltd)

The Newcastle Mater Hospital project was awarded to the Novacare consortium consisting of Abigroup, Compass Group, Honeywell, and Westpac. Private sector involvement comprises design, construction, financing, maintenance and provision of selected services. The joint delivery of new health facilities on the Newcastle Mater Hospital site includes a new 96-bed acute mental health facility to replace existing facilities at James Fletcher Hospital.

Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre (Department of Health)

In 2009, the Victorian State and Australian Federal governments announced funding for the construction of a comprehensive cancer centre in Parkville, Melbourne. The main building will be constructed on the site of the former Royal Dental Hospital. The Victorian CCC will include 196 inpatient beds, 110 same-day treatment places, eight medi-hotel beds, eight radiation therapy bunkers and more than 30,000 square metres of research space capable of accommodating up to 1,400 cancer researchers. Construction of the new facility will begin in 2011 and be completed by the end of 2015.

Infrastructure Projects

Regional Rail Link – Work Package A (Metro Trains)

The Regional Rail Link is a 47.5km railway track currently under construction through the western suburbs of Melbourne from Southern Cross Station, meeting the Geelong Line at West Werribee. The key scope elements of Work Package A comprise the construction of the new Platforms 15 and 16 at Southern Cross, Melbourne yard interlocking works, and track and signalling works to be delivered by rail operator, Metro Trains. Completion is scheduled for 2016.

Peninsula Link (Abigroup)

Abigroup has been appointed to design and construct the Peninsula Link, a project involving the construction of 27km of motorway between the EastLink toll road in Melbourne's eastern suburbs and the Mornington Peninsula Freeway at Mt Martha. The Peninsula Link will facilitate 11 local road connections, more than 35 bridges, a 22km cycling and walking path, roadside control centre and fauna crossing underpaths. Completion is scheduled for early 2013.

Southern Expressway Duplication (DTEI South Australia)

The Southern Expressway duplication will enable dual-direction traffic flow for people living, working and visiting Adelaide's southern region. The project will deliver a new carriageway within the existing road corridor including three lanes in each direction between Darlington and Reynella, extending the existing road and pedestrian bridges, duplicating access at the existing interchanges. Construction of the Southern Expressway Duplication project will start in late 2011 and be open to traffic by mid-2014.

Terminal 1 Upgrading Project (Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore)

Terminal 1 upgrade works at Changi Airport will be undertaken by the Takenaka Corporation, to rejuvenate the 27-year-old terminal and enhance the passenger experience. Works will refurbish the terminal's interior design and finishes, as well as improve passenger flow at key areas. Areas to be upgraded include the exterior facade, Departure Curbside, Departure Check in Hall, Departure Transit Mall and Arrival Hall. The project commenced May 2008 and is scheduled for completion in 2011.

Downer EDI Ltd

With over 50 years experience in the power industry, Downer EDI provides comprehensive engineering and infrastructure management services to the public and private transport, energy, infrastructure, communications and resources sectors across Australia and the Asia Pacific region. Downer EDI has used QA Software for projects such as the Sunshine Electricity Biomass Cogeneration Project, the Alinta Cogeneration Projects Unit 1 (PJ) and Unit 2 (PJ2) as well as the Huntly e3p 400 MW CCGT power plant project located in the North Island of New Zealand.

Origin Energy

Origin Energy provides natural gas for their retailing operation, operating four power stations of their own and with interests in a portfolio of cogeneration plants which supply electricity and steam under long-term contracts. Origin has conventional oil and gas reserves in the Cooper Basin of South Australia and Queensland, in Bass Strait, and coalbed methane reserves in Queensland.

Pipeline Replacement Project – PRP2 (Leighton International)

The PRP2 (Pipeline Replacement Project 2) was the highest valued contract ever awarded by ONGC, India's leading upstream oil and gas company. Leighton's scope of work consists of full engineering, procurement, fabrication and installation of 178 km of rigid pipelines, and 54 km flexible pipelines along with associated risers, subsea crossings and topside modifications spread over three seasons. Leighton also registered records for laying 2700 m of flexible pipeline in a single day and for the highest number of platform modifications completed in a single season by any contractor.

Jack Hills Iron Ore Expansion Project (Crosslands Resources Ltd)

The Jack Hills Expansion Project is an expansion of existing mining operations. The project will expand open pit operations and utilise or expand existing infrastructure, such as haul roads, accommodation village, airstrip and teh curshing and screening plant. The project is expected to have a life of at least 35 years and aims to expand current operations from nearly 2 million tonnes per annum to an excess of 25 million tonnes per annum of iron ore products.

Guinea Alumina Refinery (BHP Billiton)

The Guinea Alumina Refinery is one of the world's largest Greenfield alumina refineries and the first in the Republic of Guinea in 54 years. Infrastructure to be developed as part of the project includes a 10 million tonnes per annum bauxite mine; a steam and electricity plant to provide the refinery with necessary power; materials handling jetty, bulk storage terminal and separate container quay in Kamsar; bauxite residue disposal area; road bridge over the Petoun Djiga River; water reservoir, sanitation, drainage and electricity supply to the developments.
